Not all showers are made the same. Yes, soap and water will work, but if you know how to bathe properly, you will come out every time with glowing skin and shiny hair. It's all in the technique. You can improve the shape of your skin and strands by following a few principles of preparation. Edward Trisomy, a master stylist and co-founder of Warren-Trisomy Salons, and Elizabeth Tansy, M.D., co-director of the Washington Institute of Dermatological Laser Surgery, are your dream team for hygiene advice.

One morning when your complexion looks dull and your locks are lame, these shower tips can really help you change your shape. Now dive straight inside!

1. Adjust the water temperature carefully.

"Warm water is best for showers to keep the skin comfortable without drying it out," says Dr. Tansy. "Avoid using very hot water as it removes the skin from its natural oils." Edward agrees, Luke recommends hot water over anything.

2. Brush your hair before it gets wet.

If you are going to wet your hair, brush it well in advance so that you do not let your hair get tangled when it gets wet. "Plastic vent brushes are great because they have more than one Brussels sprout," says Edwards. "Always go to your hair before entering the shower, to work from any tangle, starting from the bottom up. After bathing, gently brush it again."

3. Shampoo thoroughly

"When shampooing, make sure to distribute the product evenly - don't just put it on your head," says Edwards. "Put a quarter size in your hands and work it perfectly. Make sure the neck nap, especially if you have long hair. Most people forget it and it's really the most oily. "Keep rubbing. At least 30-60 seconds before rinsing."

When scrubbing, also take time to massage your scalp. Dirty hair roots always contain oil, and focus on the scalp with really clean and beautiful hair. As an added bonus, scalp massage will cause extra blood flow, which in turn stimulates extra hair growth.

4. Do not leave on conditioner for extra time.

Edward explains that applying hair conditioner for extra time does not affect the hair. "The effects of the conditioner are immediate because by the time you reach this stage, your hair is swollen with water molecules, so the conditioner can no longer penetrate your hair. Most of the benefits of standard formulas are on the hair surface. Coating. Keep the cuticle smooth and safe. And use a deep conditioner or hair mask only once a week. "

5. Clean your body safely.

"Bar soap is sanitary, and can be shared if needed, but not loafers," Dr. Tansy warned. "They can store bacteria, mold, yeast, and many other filthy things. If you want to use it, let it dry completely every day and change it frequently." Most dermatologists recommend getting rid of your loath completely, but if you can't afford to give up rich foam, change your loath monthly.

6. Wash your face on the sink.

When you wash your face with warm water, your pores open, allowing the product to penetrate the skin and work its anti-acne magic. The trick is to finally rinse this hot water with cold water. Cold water will close the pores, which is key because open holes are the gateway for bacteria to enter. So, unless you like to take a cold shower, it may be easier to wash your face on the sink where you can spray cold water on your face without putting your whole body in it.

7. Don't scrub too much.

There are many benefits to exfoliating, including removing dead skin cells and promoting new cell growth. While this is good for your skin, it is important not to overdo it. "Exfoliate only once or twice a week, otherwise it can be very annoying," says Dr. Tansy. "Shaving is considered exfoliating, so don't be too aggressive on the legs with a body scrub."

8. Wash your hair with cold water.

Like your face, hot water will open the hair follicle and cold water will close it again. "Cold water seals cuticles, promotes shiny hair," says Edward. "Hot water is drying your hair, so rinse with a cold blast that you can handle." If you have a shower tub, you can rinse your body with cold water without putting it under cold water.

9. Apply lotion immediately.

"Apply lotion immediately, even when you're still wet," says Dr. Tansy. "It works by trapping water in the skin and moisturizing it well. Your body outside the shower is the perfect canvas for a thick moisturizer. It helps you get the most out of the formula."
